How to hang your car air freshener the right way
Where you hang it matters as much as which scent you pick. Here's how to do it safely, so it looks good and smells even.

A car freshener is simple, but a few details decide whether it smells nice for a long time or leaves a mark on your dashboard.
The best spot: the rear-view mirror
Hang it from the arm of the rear-view mirror with the cord. It catches a little air from the vents, swings freely and the shape is easy to see from the driver's seat.
- 1Take the freshener out of the bag only about 1 cm
- 2Loop the cord around the mirror arm, not the mirror itself
- 3Adjust the length so it hangs below the mirror, not in front of your view
- 4Check that it doesn't touch the windscreen when you brake

Places to avoid
- On the dashboard: sun and heat dry it out fast, and fragrance oil can mark plastic and leather
- Clipped to air vents: a strong airflow empties it quickly
- Near the airbag areas: keep anything loose away from where airbags open
- Touching seats or upholstery: the oil can leave spots
Front and back, the right way round
Our fresheners have two printed sides. The front shows the flag inside the real border of the country. The back is mirrored, so the shape still looks right when you see it from the driver's seat. Hang it with the front facing the windscreen so people outside see the flag, and you see the correct shape.

Safety first
Keep fresheners away from children and pets, and wash your hands if you touch the scented card. That's all there is to it: hang it, pull it out slowly, enjoy the drive.
